I can remember standing there on Flynn's beach, Phillip Island, Victoria Australia, feet sinking a little into the sand. We just began filming for "Australia in the heart". It was a beautiful evening, the smell of the surf and the dusk tainted with eucalyptus, just great. The rest was filmed in melbourne. The song is about the nation of Australia, it's 'free' unspoken lifestyle. It still remains a land where possibilities are open in all areas of life. The song touches on all who are Australian, Australia is a country, but what makes us Australian? because we stand on the ground beneath us? no, anyone can stand on the ground.
As an Australian I don't wish to be known as a person who has a landmass under him but a person who has a 'landmass' of values. One who is able to give to others in need, treasure my freedom as I treasure that of others. I wish as an Australian to be so less nationalistic as not to be bound by any border, but be bound in my actions to others. In fact all landmasses are bound together under the water, so are all people of all nations bound together. All working on the same plan, the same final solution. We will all be there when it's finally formulated. We must always create with this in mind. Leave this world in a better state than when we found it!
